🌄 Day 1: Hanoi to Ha Giang – Into the Highlands
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Hanoi to Ha Giang City. Though the road winds for seven hours, the journey is anything but dull—rolling mountains, quaint villages, and rice terraces fill every frame. You’ll stop along the way for photo ops and a local lunch before arriving in Quan Ba. There, you’ll hike to the Twin Mountain viewpoint for panoramic views of the iconic karst landscape. Start the morning at the lively Meo Vac hill tribe market before continuing over the spectacular Heaven’s Gate Pass toward Dong Van. Along the way, stop to explore Lung Cam village and visit the former residence of the Hmong King—the Vuong Palace—a remnant of royal heritage nestled in rugged highlands. This afternoon, stroll through ancient villages and take in the dramatic scenery. Overnight in Dong Van.
🏁 Day 4: Dong Van to Lung Cu to Yen Minh – Touching the Northernmost Tip
Today’s highlight is Lung Cu Flag Tower, proudly marking Vietnam’s northernmost point. The road is steep and narrow, but the views and sense of place are unmatched. Later, explore Pho Bang, a sleepy town filled with Chinese-style architecture and faded charm. Then wind your way to Yen Minh through serene landscapes and ethnic minority villages. 🚗 Day 5: Yen Minh to Hanoi – The Journey Home
The final day takes you back to Hanoi, but not before crossing the majestic Tam Son Valley. If you're up for it, there's a short trek to a nearby Hmong village to cap off your adventure. Arrive back in the capital by early evening—refreshed, inspired, and filled with stories to tell.

Itineraries
Day 1
Hanoi – Ha Giang (L, D)
Depart the capital by road this morning for the start of your adventure. The drive to Ha Giang takes around 7 hours but is some of the most breathtaking scenery in Vietnam and along the way you will stop as often as you like to visit small villages and take photos. After the long drive, We will have lunch in restaurant. After lunch, we continue our drive towards Dong Van stone plateau.
We drop by Quan Ba town and take a walk up to the observatory to enjoy Twin Mountain sightseeing. Overnight at Home stay /hotel in Ha Giang.
Day 2
Ha Giang – Meo Vac (B, L)
Continue northwards this morning to the town of Meo Vac located along the Chinese border. The six-hour drive takes you through many Hmong villages with several stops made en route. Reaching Meo Vac in early afternoon set of on a light trek along the banks of the Nho Que River to visit villages of the Tay and Nung hilltribes. Overnight at the hotel in Meo Vac.
Day 3
Meo Vac – Dong Van (B, L)
After a visit to the morning hill tribe market at Meo Vac, and take a short drive to Dong Van, passing over ‘Heaven’s Gate Pass’. we continue our road trip to Dong Van karst plateau. A stop will be made en route for visiting a Hmong village in Lung Cam, and the residence of the Vuong family, still called “Palace of Hmong King”. This road skirts the Chinese border soaring above a deep valley dotted with fields and rock formations. This afternoon there is time to explore the local villages and valleys around Dong Van. Overnight at Home stay/ the hotel in Dong Van.
Day 4
Dong Van – Lung Cu -Yen Minh (B, L, D)
Following breakfast leave Dong Van for a spectacular 1-hour drive to Lung Cu, the northern most point where there is highest flagpole of the North Vietnam. Discover the diversity of the north with a visit to the local market where hill tribes from around the region come to trade their wares, stop at the palace of a former Hmong king and take a walk through Pho Bang town whose lanes are filled with traditional Chinese-style houses. Continue to Yen Minh, Arriving late this afternoon. Overnight at the hotel in Yen Minh.
Day 5
Yen Minh – Ha Giang – Hanoi (B, L)
Looping back to Hanoi, this full day of driving first takes you over the Tam Son Valley where, should you wish, you can take a short trek to a Hmong village. You’ll the reach Ha Giang again around midday before continuing onwards to Hanoi arriving early evening.
